El Ingenio Teatro proudly celebrates its 15th anniversary today, January 2, 2026. Since 2011, we have remained deeply committed to theater and to promoting its presence in every possible space. Our programs also offer artistic services for older adults, reaffirming our belief in the transformative power of the arts at every stage of life.
We are equally dedicated to fostering artistic education among children and young people, firmly believing that the arts are a powerful complement to academic learning, nurturing creativity and strengthening social skills through shared goals.
Throughout these years, we have built a solid foundation that drives us to create new works, present them in different cities and countries, and establish meaningful and enriching connections through theatrical exchange with other companies. We are also proud to host the Casandra International Theater Festival dedicated to Women, which celebrates its tenth anniversary this year and has brought to Miami renowned artists who have shaped the Latin American and European theater scene for decades.
On this 15th anniversary, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to our sponsors, our dedicated team, and our loyal audience, who have supported us throughout these fifteen years. And we look forward to much more ahead!
El Ingenio Teatro celebra con orgullo su 15.º aniversario hoy, 2 de enero de 2026. Desde 2011, hemos mantenido un compromiso profundo con el teatro y con la promoción de su presencia en todos los espacios posibles. Nuestros programas también ofrecen servicios artísticos a las personas mayores, reafirmando nuestra convicción de que el arte es una fuente de bienestar, conexión y vitalidad en todas las etapas de la vida.
Asimismo, dedicamos una parte esencial de nuestro trabajo a la formación artística de niños y jóvenes, convencidos de que las artes complementan de manera poderosa la educación académica, estimulan la creatividad y fortalecen las habilidades sociales a través de metas compartidas.
A lo largo de estos años, hemos construido una base sólida que nos impulsa a crear nuevas obras, presentarlas en distintas ciudades y países, y establecer conexiones significativas y enriquecedoras mediante el intercambio teatral con otras compañías. La historia y los personajes de esta versión de Cartas Cruzadas son sólo una vía para reflexionar, desde nuestro tiempo, sobre temas que mantienen una extraña vigencia: el poder y el amor, los vínculos de sangre, las razones de estado y las fronteras que separan personas y naciones. Escrita como una analogía o una metáfora sobre las acciones del poder y la libertad individual, la acción transcurre en una noche única, en vísperas de la ejecución de María en el Castillo de Fotheringhay.

Porque no sólo el mito y la leyenda corresponden a Yarini, sino que en el Réquiem… -magnífica intuición de Felipe-, la Jabá ocupa el centro indiscutible de la acción. Sabemos de Yarini a través de ella mucho más que por sus propias acciones. Y en ese misterioso Triángulo de la pasión que forman la Jabá, la Santiaguera y la Macorina, radica gran parte de la magia y la secreta imaginería de la pieza.

With the strong commitment to make the classics of all time endure, the theatre ingenuity presents the Hamlet case, an original text by Cuban playwright Raquel Carrió based on the work of William Shakespeare.
Under the direction of Lilliam Vega and starring Jorge Luis Álvarez, Susana Pérez, Gilberto Reyes, Carlos Garín and Anna Sobero, the theatrical piece appeals to the sensibility, creativity and spontaneity of the public by investigating the hidden keys of the universal work.
The moral of the krill is universal. Can a crab fly and live in the branches of a tree? Every day I ask myself: Despite the many pitfalls we find in theatrical life, is it worth dreaming to fly?
