Rubén Romeu
Choreographer and Actor
Born in Cuba, Ruben graduated from the School of Art Instructors in Havana, starting his career as a professional dancer. Romeu has been part of the Conjunto Nacional de Espectáculos and the famous Havana cabaret Tropicana. In 1984 he moved to Mexico City where he created his own group called Cuba Baila. In the United States, Ruben has worked with major ballet companies figuras and has worked as a choreographer for different theater companies in productions such as La cenicienta, or the musical Annie, where he also participated as an actor. He El Ingenio Teatro has been the choreographer of different productions such as Bodas de Sangre, Un Tranvía llamado Deseo, El Gato con Botas, Bar Decamerón, Volver a la Habana and Hamlet. In addition to continuing his facet as a teacher of movement in the Art workshops for children and young people of the Company.
